Finikounda is located in Messinia, on the Peloponnese, the southwest of Greece. The Messinia region has plenty of culture and is home to many important archaeological sites.

The region is rich in colorful, traditional villages and cities.
Finikounda is a very popular seaside resort among the Greeks and foreigners. It is not crowded with tall concrete hotels, but it has all remained small and picturesque. Finikounda lies between Methoni and Koroni and is 8 km from Villa FINIKI. Finikounda has about 650 inhabitants.

Finikounda is a very charming fishing village with a harbor and a private beach.
Finikounda has an abundance of exceptional natural beauty and some of the best beaches in all of Greece.  The taverns are on the beach (eating with your feet in the sand!). Here you can enjoy the warm Greek hospitality, the local specialties (ask for it!) And of course the local wine. The attractive shopping street is pleasantly crowded in summer and the meeting place for the people of the village in the evening. There are several supermarkets, butchers, bakers and there are plenty of good and cheap taverns. (eat & drink)

There are several beautiful long, wide sandy beaches around Finikounda with several beach clubs.
On the Lambes beach (2.5 km from Villa FINIKI) there is even one with a swimming pool where you can spend the whole day while enjoying a snack and a drink. The long, wide Anemomilos beach is perfect for surfing.
Finikounda also has a surfing dive school with the possibility to rent a surfboard, sailboat or catamaran. Finikounda is easily accessible by the now fully completed motorway (toll road) from Kalamata to Athens.

With Finikounda as a base station you can discover the Messinia region
and visit the many sights. Local skippers, usually found at the port of Finikounda, offer boat trips to the beautiful islands of Schiza, Aghia Marina, and Sapientza.

In short; Finikounda is the place to be sure of a cozy and very relaxing holiday.

Tips:
Our favorite beach bar:,Almiro Gliko,; you can eat pancakes and drink delicious cocktails in the evening.
Tavern where we like to eat; Dionyssos, the owner Dimitri, does everything to make it to your liking. Look at the chalkboard for the specialty of the day.
At Taverne Elena you can eat deliciously with a view of the bay. There is regular Live Music (usually on Saturday night); keep an eye on the chalkboards.
