With this varied walk of 13 km we take you to the deserted villages of Romiri & Tripes, churches, ruins and breathtaking views.

Hike from Kalochori to the deserted villages of Romiri, Tripes and Pera
We start in Kalochori and hike 2 km up to the deserted village of Romiri.
This must once have been a rich village with beautiful large houses. Now the cows are the only inhabitants.
Only the 2 churches are in good condition, near the large church of Ag. Nikolaos we take a break and enjoy the view.
Via an old donkey path we walk 2 km to the slightly higher, also deserted, village of Tripes.
Here too, only some cattle are walking around. We then walk down wide paths towards the village of Pera. We walk along fig trees and have a beautiful view of the bay of Kalamata. We pass the ruins of the old Venetian fortress (late 17th century) of Pera. We take a break at the church just before Pera and then start the last kilometers. The last 500 meters to Kalochori is a calf bite.
But then we can enjoy a cool drink at the tavern.

MEETING POINT
The meeting point is in Kalochori in the parking lot of the church with the cemetery.
After booking you will receive the exact location with Google maps

WHEN
The walk can be booked every day and starts at 9.30 am.
(reservation at least 2 days in advance).
When it is very hot, we can start earlier after consultation.
