During this walk we walk around the village of Pirgos, north of the Navarino bay and visit the grand wine house of Greece; Nestor winery.

Nestor Wines is situated north of the Navarino bay, just outside the village of Pirgos. We leave from the parking place of the winery and walk south. Because Pirgos is situated high up we get beautiful views over the bay of Pylos. Nestor Winery is located in one of the most fertile areas of southwestern Peloponnese and is not only surrounded by vineyards but also surrounded by olive groves. Halfway through the walk we will stop at the picturesque square of Pirgos for a frappe in one of the traditional kafenions. Eventually we are expected at the Nestor winery with the largest wine cellar in Greece. Not only do they make wine, but they also have their own Tsipouro distillery. We get a tour of about 45 minutes and end it with a tasting of three wines and the tsipouro. The tasting is accompanied with bread, some cheeses and meats. You can buy your favorite wine in the winery shop.
